Doom Clock key art: a council chamber at night, silhouetted members around a table of sealed envelopes

Social deduction · In person

One in three of you wants the city to fall.

Find them before midnight. Doom Clock is a social deduction game for a room of 9 to 20 people. Everyone plays on their own phone. The arguing happens across the table.

[TBC]Play time

Play time is confirmed after playtest 1 on 6 November.

How it plays

Departments vote. Responders act. The room argues.

  1. Phone screen: the session lobby, with players joining and an invite to share

    01 · Gather

Everyone joins the room on their own phone. Put the game on a shared TV if you have one.

  2. Phone screen: a classified bulletin, hold to read, shield your screen

    02 · Keep secrets

About one in three players is secretly an Anarchist. Secrets show once, on your screen only.

  3. Phone screen: submit your response, Support or Sabotage, with a countdown

    03 · Respond

Each department votes one member to respond to the crisis. Responders secretly Support or Sabotage. Loyalists can only Support.

  4. Phone screen: the verdict, sabotage count and the clock, midnight averted

    04 · The city responds

The room sees how many sabotaged, never who. Every sabotage steals hours from the city's clock.

Screens from the current build, which still shows the game's working title.

Loyalists win

By exiling every Anarchist, or by holding out until midnight is averted.

Anarchists win

When the clock reaches midnight. It starts 3 to 6 hours away, depending on group size.

From round 2 the room also votes players onto Prisoner's Island. Up to 6 rounds.

One person buys. Everyone plays.
